My name is Joy Snow, and I am an Orthopedic Massage Therapist, Licensed Massage Therapist, Certified Kinesiology Taping Specialist and am trained in Level 1 Myofascial Decompression and Neuromuscular re-education.
My formal education was at The Massage School in Boston, MA. and I have been a massage therapist since 2014. I continued my education and training since then which includes Orthopedic Massage Therapy, Deep Tissue, Sports Massage, Active Release Therapy, PNF Stretching, Neuromuscular Re-Education, Myofascial Decompression, Cupping Therapy, Trigger Point, Kinesio taping and Myofascial Release. I spent a year and a half studying Orthopedic Massage and Rehabilitation Therapy with Tom Karis in Burlington, MA and am certified as an OMT, with The National Certified Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork and have been a member of the Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals (ABMP) since 2013. I am licensed professionally as a Massage Therapist in the state of Colorado and Massachusetts, with National Certification through MBLEx. I have held my Adult First Aid/CPR/AED certificate for over the last 12 years. For the better part of 6 years I have been donating my time working for professional sport teams and semi-professional athletes who are dedicated to the virtue of athletic excellence but have little means for rehabilitation therapies. Athletes in paddling, hockey, skiing, running, track and road cycling, rugby, soccer, volleyball, gymnastics, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, Olympic power lifters, lacrosse and track have been to see me for all forms of muscular injuries over the years. My passion for massage therapy has stemmed from my own need for extensive rehab from a crippling sports injury and I was amazed that by addressing the soft tissue components surrounding the injury site it promoted muscular balance and fluidity with pain free movement patterns. I also have spent my time and studies making sure that I understand structural movement patterns, the difference between male and female muscular balances and how to address injuries and rehabilitation. I am looking forward to working with you and creating a healing environment that promotes a healthy, balanced and active lifestyle.
